Melodeon Style Pump Organ Circa 1850-1871

Description:

an antique melodeon style pump organ. It was made by Geo. A. Prince of Buffalo, New York. The Geo. A. Prince Company started in 1840 and ended its run in 1871. So this old instrument is without a doubt over 142 years old! It is made of rosewood and measures 37 1/2" wide x 18 3/4" deep (front to back) and is 29 1/2" tall (closed). The rosewood grain on top looks amazing. This was an instrument that could be transported by stagecoach. The base folds up as the center cross bar can be removed and the leg portions on both ends fold in. The pump action seems to work but it makes only a little sound. Considering the age the condition is very much excellent.
