Frederic Remington Full Size Bronze "Coming Through the Rye"
Description:
This is a large vintage bronze sculpture by Frederic Remington. This iconic solid American bronze is named "Coming Through the Rye". Coming Through the Rye, Remington’s eighth bronze sculpture was copyrighted in 1902. The artist described his sculpture as “four cowboys on running horses… men shooting pistols and shouting.” Only six of the horse’s sixteen hooves touch the ground – an example of Remington’s magnificent three-dimensional artistry. We estimate that this version dates to the 1960's or 1970's. It is mounted on a thick slab of wood and weighs about 200 lbs. It measure 28 1/2" wide x 26 1/2 tall and is 25" deep front to back!
