Here we have a ​Chicago made Bartender trade stimulator. It dates to the 1930s and operates on a penny or a dime. A coin is placed in the slot, the lever is pushed down and the reels spin when released. It has 3 reels featuring whiskey, beer bottles and different shaped beer glasses. It has a coin slot that accepts pennies or dimes. With each coin played it dispenses an optional gum ball. this was a way to get around gambling prohibition laws. There is a display window on the front to show off the gumballs. The last coin played is displayed in the side window to confirm winning coin. The button on the back allows the bartender or shopkeeper to clear the coin in the window to indicate payout had been made. It is fully restored and is in excellent working condition. It comes complete with a key which unlocks the back. It was made by the Groetchen Tool & Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Illinois. The sides read "1776-1930". The back features an eagle with a shield and reads "Dandy Vendor". It measures 11.75" high x 9.5" wide x 9" deep.
